Rowney Undergoes Knee Surgery, Will Be Out Four to Six Months

Ducks forward Carter Rowney underwent surgery yesterday to repair a medial meniscus tear in his left knee. The surgery was performed Dr. Brian Schulz, orthopaedic surgeon at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles. Rowney will be out four to six months.

"We feel bad for Carter," said Ducks Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray. "He is a very effective player, but also a character person and teammate. Knowing that, we are confident he will work his way back and return to form even stronger than before."

Rowney suffered the injury February 22 at Arizona. He had six points (all assists) in 19 games this season, his third in Anaheim.
